Friday night 2nd weekend

We had the best two games of the season tonight. The first was Gold vs Electric Blue . Blue was up 15 in the 3rd quarter but Max Raphaelson hit 4 3’s to cut the lead. John Meade had an outstanding game on cuts without the ball and had 22 but it was Ethan Lubowitz with a little help from his Dad on a scooper with the left hand.   Ethan had 38 out of the 74 points – 2 points off half the total  , come on , who does that ? The experience wore them down and then it was over – 74- 73 on a tremendous Gold comeback.

Just when you thought nothing could top that out comes Blue vs Black  “A star was born ” for sure. We have had stars born before , the last was Tejan , who in his opening game as a 15 year old scored 31 points. Tonight it was Luca Biro 16 years old , .who scored 25 and threw down two Thunder Dunks , one off a rebound and on off a steal . When a young player has a night like that it is just so much fun to watch. His Dad was going off while it was happening and so was I and everyone else there.  Welcome to the League , Luca – happy to have you .  2 overtimes to boot ./ Steve Frenchman was in action , setting picks and even hitting the old school, back down , turn around jumper that was Perfected by Oscar Robinson back in the day. John the ref said it looked like old timers day , with Doug Worth snaring rebounds.  Justin Schnell (23) gave it all he could but that shot from Half Court that Luca hit at the buzzer of the 1st half was like sticking a dagger into Black and twisting it a little too. What a night . 2 OT in this game and Blue pulls it out without  Lucas F who fouled out early. 67=62

Next up Yellow vs Orange – both teams needing a win. But hey, here comes Yellow with a trap . Yes indeed campers , these young boys put it on Orange and got 7 turnovers. Count those points after steals and you have a bonus and enough left over to get the W. It was fun to watch and the fans were on their feet as Orange kept it close all they way to the bitter end. Alec S definitely came to play tonight and so did BK but it wasn’t enough to stop the Pohmer machine and the outstanding play by Matt Benedict. Jon Bloom had a basket underneath and Cash B hits 4 3’s but Yellow outlasts them 64-61

Didn’t get a report on the last game but …Graphite vs Green – Green ill be tough inside. Got a feeling Alexandra will hit a few 3’s inside but Arie may get 35 indoors = we’ll see
